HoWB Award
On Oct 26th 2020, I was announced as the winner of the 2020 Heart of Wood Buffalo Newcomer Engagement Award. My work in the community is an initiative I am passionate about - STEM education to under-represented groups: young females and black youths.
The Newcomer Engagement Award celebrates people who are new to the region (3 years or less), but quickly support the community benefit sector through their outstanding leadership, commitment to volunteer work, or engagement/employment. They have a passion for the community and prove to be a tremendous advocate for the sector. The award is given in memory of Lyle Leboldus.
The Heart of Wood Buffalo Excellence Awards honours the achievements of leaders, philanthropists, organizations and all those that embody the spirit of community, innovation, capacity building, and dedication to making Wood Buffalo an amazing region to work, play, and live in.
